Mailprotector's email spam and virus filter heuristics engines alone consist of over multiple tests that containing over 100,000 active pattern matching algorithms updated hundreds of times each day. We are constantly adapting to new spamming techniques as we add new email spam filter tests and modify old ones.


Vigilant Email Attack Blocking

The cloud is the logical place to analyse email traffic before it hits your servers. Our external systems act as an application layer firewall that protects your email server from denial of service attacks, dictionary harvest attacks, and email server vulnerabilities. Most server or desktop level approaches literally let spam and viruses come to your doorstep bringing you perilously close to these online threats with often just a single AS/AV engine, if that. Because MaiProtector operates at the DNS cloud level, we're able to dedicate considerably more resources to scanning and stopping spam - we don't have a single AS/AV service, we have several.


Custom Spam Filter

With MailProtector you can tailor your anti spam settings to your own custom specifications or rely on our default settings. By customising the system, you can configure the X-Header to display a custom message that your own mail filters can act on. Custom spam tolerances can set on a domain or individual email level.


Enhanced Outbound Scanning

Protect your online business reputation by stopping potential spam outbreaks within your organisation with our outbound email filter. In house mail systems may catch viruses - but few stop spam and blindly and unwittingly forward spam by compromised machines from your company - damaging your online reputation in the process. When enabled, your domains outbound email will be scanned for spam & viruses. You can also create email filtering rules which only apply to outbound content.


Directory Services Sync

Using an Exchange server? With our directory services sync capability (LDAPSync), you are only charged for real mail accounts - not aliases or distribution lists. The advantages of cloud based anti-virus and anti-spam systems over are well known: Bandwidth savings, a separate line of defence and more sophisticated scanning engines are a but a few of these advantages. But until recently - you were charged for each unique email address that was processed - potentially expensive. With MailProtector LDAPSync you are only charged for genuine accounts. This feature is supported with Microsoft Exchange and our in-house Zimbra Hosted Mail Services.


Custom Email Footer

By default, we provide a footer to alert recipients that your mail has been scanned before it was sent. In addition, or as a replacement you can place a custom text message in the footer of every email sent from a specific domain.


Daily Email Reports

You can configure our systems to send a summary of messages flagged by our systems to your users each day. You can also provide your users the ability to release these messages directly by clicking on a release link - from the comfort of their inbox.

Easily manage domain aliases from our console.


Simple Message Quarantine

Users can login and view their personal email statistics, & release messages from their quarantine using the same login credentials as their mail server.


Content Filtering

In addition to the security threats of spam, viruses, worms, and phishing, companies today are becoming increasingly aware of the need for content filtering and attachment control.  The damage caused by either unethical email (racially insensitive or pornographic) or the loss of proprietary company information can ruin a company’s reputation as well as cause harmful consequences in the marketplace. With Mailprotector’s content filtering module, companies can enforce policy and compliance policies for their organisation. Benefits of Mailprotector’s content filtering include the ability to manage rules based on words in the message headers, subject, or body. Domain admins can create inbound and outbound rules for an entire domain or a specific user and control attachment type & size and filter email from over 240 country-specific URL extensions
